Tyres Dickson born the youngest of four boys to a hard working woman in
Houston
Texas. From a very young age he showed a great proclivity or athletics,
basketball, football,
track, gymnastics. From the quarterback and defensive back position, he
led my high school
football team to the playoffs for the first time in ages, elected as an
All-American Blue-chip
athlete, and heavily recruited throughout the nation. He was fortunate
in earning a full
scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin to play with the
Longhorns.
Then Sunday March 22, 1998, the night before Spring Training began, He
was asleep in
the back seat of the car that was hit by a drunk driver. The
suburban the drunk driver was driving sent the compact car he was in
careening into oncoming traffic getting hit again. Laying in a hospital
bed
with two choice front of him, He could bemoan his fate and let his despair
turn
him into an embittered, antagonistic human being; or he could forgive
the
driver and find a new, positive direction creating music with a positive
message. "I’m not mad at the driver but at the fact he had to drink and
drive." The accident gave me a better outlook on life and decided he
would turn my focus
towards making music and promoting a positive message.” Tyres Dickson
